Billing & Insurance

Similar to visits to your physician's office, Torrance Memorial may ask you for your co-payment, co-insurance, and/or deductible payments at the time of services based on your specific insurance benefits; however, if you are unable to pay, this does not preclude you from receiving services. We accept major credit cards, checks, and cash. Payment plans are also available.

Upon receipt of a patient statement, we provide a variety of options to pay:

  • Online: This option will allow us to process your payment immediately. You will be asked to enter your Easy Match Code, which can be found on your bill, or you can set up an account on our patient payment portal.

Your Hospital Bill

  • After services are provided, Torrance Memorial will submit a claim to your insurance(s). It usually takes 30-45 days after your insurance company receives the claim for them to process it.
    • Your insurance company may contact you for additional information. Please respond to their questions as quickly as possible to avoid a delayed payment.
  • After your insurance(s) have paid, you will be billed for any balances left on your account.
    • All balances are expected to be paid within 30 days of being billed or the guarantor must make appropriate payment arrangements.
    • If you are experiencing issues with your patient responsibilities, then please contact the Business office to discuss options or click here to learn more about our Financial Assistance Program

Please keep in mind that your policy is an agreement between you and your insurance company. If you did not follow your insurance plan's terms, then they may not pay for all or part of your care and you may be responsible for the costs incurred during your care.

Additional Bills You May Receive

Physicians providing you with services related to your hospital visit will bill you separately. This can include fees related to specialists, anesthesiologists, emergency room physicians, pathologists, and radiologists. In addition, independent laboratories will also bill you separately for outstanding lab work. If you have questions about those bills, then please call the number printed on their statements.

How to Ensure Accurate Billing

Here are a few things that you can do before your visits to ensure accurate billing:

  • When scheduling your appointment, pre-register. This will ensure that we have the correct demographic and billing information.
  • Contact your insurance company to understand what is and is not covered by your policy. Make sure that Torracne Memorial accepts your insurance plan.
  • If necessary, make sure that your provider has obtained any pre-certification or referral from your insurance company.
  • Ask questions.
