The Joint Commission's Certificate of Distinction for Primary Stroke Centers recognizes Torrance Memorial Stroke Center's efforts to prevent strokes in our community as well as treat them. Our Community Education Department speaks at community centers, churches, conferences, and events to raise awareness of how to prevent strokes, the signs and symptoms of stroke and what to do if a stroke should occur.
Neurological & Stroke Rehabilitation
Torrance Memorial's Neurological and Stroke Rehabilitation Program is our comprehensive team of therapists coordinates a patient's plan of care as indicated for the following diagnoses:
- Stroke
- Neurological impairments
- Acquired brain damage
- Traumatic head injury
We actively involve families as much as possible and work with the patient, family and physician to achieve an optimal level of community integration as soon as possible.

Home Health
Serving our South Bay area, Torrance Memorial Home Health and Hospice is California-licensed, Medicare-certified, and accredited by the Joint Commission. Our home health care team works with patients and their families to ensure they received the best care possible, and helps coordinate other services and treatments as necessary.
