Adolescent Wellness Visit

Preventative care for your pre-teen

Do you know when to take your adolescent child to the doctor? Starting in early adolescence (ages 10 to 14), pre-teens and young adults should see a pediatrician or primary care physician annually for a full health and wellness exam. Our physicians and staff are here to bring comprehensive care to your growing adolescent.

The journey from childhood to adulthood if full of physical, mental, and emotional changes. Adolescence (ages 10 to 24) is the period when a growing young adult learns new ways of thinking, new social roles and relationships, and new health and exercise habits. It is vital for parents and adolescents to understand the importance of health and wellness during this time so that they can carry good habits with them into their adult life.

What if my child is sick?

If your child is ill or has an urgent problem, we will make every effort to make an appointment available for your child with their regular physician within the same day. At times when the physicians' schedule is fully booked, patients may be referred to an Urgent Care Clinic.

Will my child always see the same doctor?

We strive to have each family connected with one pediatrician. However, children may at times see one of our other pediatricians in the office if their doctor is not available or their schedule is overbooked.

When does my child need vaccinations?

Our physicians follow the immunization schedule approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).
