Dr. Joyce received his A.B. in Zoology from the University of California, Berkeley. He graduated from the UCLA School of Medicine and then did his internship at the Wadsworth VA Hospital in West Los Angeles. He returned to UCLA for his residency in diagnostic radiology, serving as co-chief resident during his third year in residency. Dr. Joyce then completed his neuroradiology fellowship at UCLA. Dr Joyce was awarded his Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Neuroradiology. Among his professional memberships are the American College of Radiology, American Society of Neuroradiology and the Western Neuroradiological Society.
After working 30 years at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, including being Director of Radiology in his last few years there, he came to Torrance Memorial Medical Center in 2008. While a specialist in neuroradiology, which includes imaging and procedures related to the brain and spine, as well as ear, nose and throat, Dr. Joyce has secondary interests in image guided procedures, including biopsies.
