Dr. Stephen Nuccion was raised in Napa, California and attended UCLA for his undergraduate degree. He earned his medical degree from USC and then returned to UCLA for his orthopedic surgery residency. Dr. Nuccion completed a sports medicine fellowship at Harvard University where he refined his orthopedic experience in the care of both recreational and competitive athletes. Today, his practice focuses on all aspects of shoulder and knee injuries as well as degenerative conditions.

What Dr. Nuccion enjoys most about orthopedics is the opportunity to intervene both surgically and non-surgically and to have a positive effect on the function and quality of many people’s lives. He is always seeking new ways to help patients including minimally invasive surgery and biologic growth factors. Dr. Nuccion chose to join the Torrance Memorial Physician Network because it offers a tremendous opportunity for state-of-the-art, integrated healthcare that can evolve with the changing environment. He has seen Torrance Memorial's commitment to the South Bay community and is proud to be a part of the network.

Outside of the office, Dr. Nuccion is involved in helping young athletes develop and stay safe. He is the team physician for Peninsula High School, the medical director for Beach Cities Flag Football as well as coach for his son's football and daughter's basketball teams. His favorite personal exercise is running and he has completed eight Run Disney Half-Marathons over the last five years. Dr. Nuccion and his family live in the South Bay and spending time with his wife, son and daughter brings him much happiness.
