Dr. Sarina Pai is a fellowship trained specialty breast radiologist who has been practicing at Torrance Memorial Medical Center in the Vasek & Anna Maria Polak Breast Diagnostic Center since 2010. She attended undergraduate school at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), medical school at Western University of Health Sciences, radiology residency at Michigan State University Consortium (Botsford/Beaumont Hospital system) and breast imaging fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Her passion has always been the improvement of women’s health and health outcomes. She has dedicated her life as a physician to be a breast imaging expert for all patients she encounters at the Breast Diagnostic Center.
Dr. Pai has been co-clinical director at the Breast Diagnostic Center since 2019, helping in setting a standard of excellence for patient care. She works closely with other departments involved in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment including surgery, oncology, pathology, plastic surgery and radiation/oncology. Dr. Pai regularly attends weekly Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Conferences and is a member of several hospital committees (Breast Leadership Committee, Oncology Committee), member of the Hunt Cancer Institute and a member of the Torrance Memorial Young Physicians and Professional Alliance (YPPA).
Dr Pai’s expertise extends to screening and diagnostic mammogram (including 3D tomosynthesis), breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and procedures such as ultrasound guided core needle biopsy, stereotactic core needle biopsy, MRI-guided biopsy and pre-surgical needle localization and wireless breast localization. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
