Torrance Memorial Women’s Heart Symposium for Professionals 2024
Torrance, Calif., September 16, 2024 – To promote a deeper understanding of heart disease in women, Torrance Memorial Medical Center’s Lundquist Lurie Cardiovascular Institute hosted its third annual Women’s Heart Symposium for healthcare professionals on September 6.
Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death among women in the United States, with one in three women succumbing to it annually. This rate is even higher among certain racial and ethnic minorities. The symposium featured expert presentations on key topics, including risk factors, prevention strategies, clinical presentations, treatment options, and outcomes of cardiovascular disease specific to women.
