Torrance Memorial Medical Center Names Keith Hobbs as New President/CEO
Torrance Memorial Medical Center has named Keith Hobbs president/CEO effective on November 1, 2023. Hobbs brings nearly 30 years of healthcare administration experience and success to the position.
“Replacing a longtime skilled leader is a difficult decision, but one that was made easier with Keith Hobbs as the candidate for CEO,” said Greg Geiger, Torrance Memorial Board Chairman. “An accomplished healthcare executive, Hobbs brings a set of skills, experience and a level measure that will continue Torrance Memorial’s legacy as a world-class healing institution in the South Bay.”
Since joining Torrance Memorial in 2021 as Executive Vice President, Hobbs has been an integral part of the hospital’s leadership team and operations. His most recent duties include the oversight of the Torrance Memorial Physician Network, hospital medical staff, human resources, laboratory services and in-house pharmacy. In February of this year, he was promoted to president of Torrance Memorial Medical Center and has continued to demonstrate outstanding leadership and commitment to improving patient care.

As CEO of USC Verdugo Hills Hospital from 2016 to 2021, Hobbs was responsible for the hospital’s improved financials over a three-year period as well as raising the Press Ganey Emergency Department (ED) scores to among the top 25 percent in the nation. His accomplishments included construction of a neonatal Intensive care unit, establishment of a physician network strategy and development of a teaching hospital program.
Prior to his service at USC Verdugo, Hobbs spent more than two decades as vice president and in multiple executive roles at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Hobbs holds a master’s degree in business administration, with an emphasis in healthcare administration and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Medical Group Management Association. Hobbs also serves on a number of non-profit boards.
Hobbs resides in the South Bay with his wife of more than 30 years. They have three adult children and a granddaughter.
