Torrance Memorial Awarded as One of Newsweek's World's Best Specialized Hospitals 2021
TORRANCE, Calif., September 28, 2021 – Torrance Memorial Medical Center has been recognized as part of Newsweek’s list of the World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2022. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The awards list was announced on September 22, 2021 and can currently be viewed on the Newsweek website.
Newsweek and Statista selected the World’s Best Specialized Hospitals by inviting more than 40,000 medical experts—including doctors, hospital managers, and health care professionals—to participate in online surveys allowing them to recommend and assess various hospitals within their respective specializations. The results of the survey were then validated by a global board of renowned medical experts.
The World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2022 ranking identifies the best hospitals specializing in nine areas: Cardiology, Endocrinology, Oncology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine, Cardiac Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Pulmonology.
Based on the results of the study, Torrance Memorial is pleased to be recognized as one of Newsweek’s list of the World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2022, specializing in Cardiology for the Lundquist Lurie Cardiovascular Institute.
“This is a wonderful achievement by all involved with our heart program. Thank you to Melanie and Richard Lundquist for the resources they have devoted to this program and to our hospital. Much gratitude goes to the program leadership and the physicians, nurses and clinicians who save lives every day through the great heart care provided here at Torrance Memorial,” Craig Leach, president and CEO of Torrance Memorial Medical Center said.
