ACLS Recertification is a one-day recertification offered in January, April, July and October; requires current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS card. Torrance Memorial personnel are given priority. For more information, call (310) 517-4730. Course fee: $75.00.

Basic Arrhythmia Course is designed for Registered Nurses and Licensed Vocational Nurses, but may be attended by unit secretaries, monitor technicians and others. A combination self-learning, (approximately eight hours a week), and classroom program. Course fee is $75.00 plus a textbook is required (approximately $35.00). Oncology Symposium is an annual oncology nursing symposium featuring a nationally renowned faculty. The 17th Annual Oncology Symposium for healthcare professionals will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008. This year's symposium will update the oncology healthcare provider on management issues and current trends in cancer diagnosis and treatment. The symposium offers the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the use of targeted and other emerging therapies for a variety of solid tumor types. Attendees will learn about the latest strategies for managing disease and treatment-related side effects across the disease continuum.

Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course This two-day course provides a comprehensive review of the knowledge needed to administer cytotoxic and biotherapeutic agents. Upon successful completion of the course and post-test, participants will receive an ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card. The course fee includes all course materials, copy of the ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Guidelines and Recommendations for Practice, 2nd Ed., continental breakfast both days and Continuing Nursing Education Credits. BRN approved for 13.5 CEUs, Provider No. 2580.
Class space is limited and deadline for registration is 1200 on Thursday, May 8, 2008.

Cost for the course is $225 ($100 for Torrance Memorial employees and POSS employees). A full refund will be given if this program is cancelled. No fees will be refunded if the participant cancels within 48 hours of the program. Cancellation prior to 48 hours will receive a refund, minus a $20 processing fee.
