Each year the South Bay Daily Breeze newspaper conducts a readers poll titled the "Best of the South Bay."
Torrance Memorial was voted as the South Bay's Best Hospital by the Daily Breeze readers in 2007 and in nine years preceding this year.
National Research Corporation Healthcare Market Guide
In 2007, the National Research Corporation ( www.NationalResearch.com) conducted a
nationally syndicated survey of healthcare attitudes and experiences. The following
results on hospital preference represent the response from South Bay area residents
only. The survey of South Bay residents, included 557 people, randomly selected to be
representative of the community.
The sample methodology has an error rate of 0.2 percent, at the 95% confidence level, which is acceptable by research
standards. Torrance Memorial did not sponsor nor have any input or collaboration on
the survey. The hospital ranked as "Next" in the results was one of several South Bay
area hospitals, other than Torrance Memorial.
